Normalizing Ties with Israel Aimed at Paving Way for ‘Deal of Century’: Lebanese Analyst

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A senior Lebanese political analyst said attempts by certain Arab countries to normalize ties with the Zionist regime are aimed at paving the way for implementation of the so-called “deal of the century”

Speaking to IQNA, Talal Atrissi said they want to put an end to the issue of Palestine by such a plot.
He said the first objective behind recent visits and meetings of officials and of some Arab states and Israeli officials is making it look like a normal and ordinary occurring.
The ultimate objective though is to set the ground for implementing the so-called deal of the century which would involve denial of Palestinians’ right of return and announcement of Quds (Jerusalem) as the permeant capital of the occupying regime, he added.
The so-called deal, a backchannel plan to allegedly reach a peace settlement between Israel and the Palestinians, was proposed by the US administration late last year. Although the plan has not been released, leaks signal it will consist of the same tried and failed ideas.
While little is known about the controversial deal, leaks have suggested that it regards Quds entirely as Israeli territory, whereas Palestinians view the eastern sector of the occupied city as the capital of their future state.
Palestinians also believe that the US-drafted plan calls for keeping borders and security under Israeli control, while it keeps Israeli settlements’ final borders to be discussed in later negotiations.
In November, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas rejected the plan and decried what he called efforts to separate the West Bank from the Gaza Strip.
“The ‘deal of the century’ will not pass and the fate of the land of Palestine will be decided by the Palestinian people,” Abbas said in a recorded speech aired on Palestine TV on Nov. 10.
Abbas has described US President Donald Trump’s plan as “the slap of the century" and boycotted the US administration since December 2017 when Trump recognized Quds as Israel’s capital.
In Gaza, Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri said the resistance movement would never allow the “deal” to be implemented.
He said weekly protests held near an Israeli fence separating the occupied territories from Gaza would be held with the aim of thwarting the “deal of the century”.

Victorious Syria Alert to Defeated Regimes’ Diplomatic Bid to be Trojan Horses for US

 By: Kayhan Int’l
Whether the US decision to end the illegal presence of its troops in Syria, or the trooping into Damascus of the diplomatic staff of Arab reactionary regimes in sheer humiliation after seven years of severed ties and backing of terrorists in a futile bid to overthrow the government of President Bashar al-Assad, are both open admissions of defeat.
Whatever reasons they might give for their about turns – the Americans who had vowed to continue their uninvited stay in Syria until Damascus officially revokes all invitations to its Iranian allies; and the reactionary Arabs who had vowed to stay out of Damascus as long as the presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran permeates – it is obvious that they have eaten the humble pie.
Iran, Iranians, and the groups backed and trained by them to defeat the most macabre and bloodthirsty terrorists the modern world has seen, have a ubiquitous presence in Syria for the new role as nation-builders in the current phase of reconstruction, as affirmation of the grand victory of the steadfast and heroic Syrian people who braved seven years of aggression launched jointly by the US, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Turkey, France, Britain, and the illegal Zionist regime.
The road that leads from Tehran to Damascus, via Baghdad and all the way to Beirut, is the straight and unwavering saga of resistance which no big power or its clients can severe. This unbreakable bond ensures the progress and development of not just Syria and Iran, but of Iraq, Lebanon, and in the near future of Palestine, since the path will soon be paved to connect Bayt al-Moqaddas to this network.
Turkey which has finally acknowledged its folly of having given free passage to the terrorists from various countries for destabilizing Syria, is welcome to be part of the regional bloc for reconstruction, provided it withdraws its forces from Syrian soil and seeks the approval of President Assad.
Of course, any decision in this regard is the sole responsibility of the sovereign independent government of Syria, which has already shown its magnanimity in allowing the oil-rich Persian Gulf Arab states – the chief culprits in the destruction of Syrian towns and cities, the killing of hundreds of thousands of Syrian people, and the displacement of millions of others – to reopen their embassies and discuss investment in reconstruction projects.
President Assad, however, behind the diplomatic niceties, is on full alert that their missions or money shouldn’t be hidden agendas for treason against the Syrian people and their government, which they failed to overthrow through the terrorists.
If only the rulers of these wealthy British-created fiefdoms had been Muslim, Arab or manly enough, they would have helped Syria – and also Iraq – to develop into thriving stable societies, instead of offering billion-dollar bribes to Damascus to sever ties with Tehran, and when this failed, squandering billions of dollars on the terrorists to massacre the Syrian people and destroy their towns and cities!

Anyway, it is up to President Assad to keep them in their proper places after the crimes they have committed – and continue to commit by openly embracing the despicable Zionists – by determining the best possible way for making them pay war reparations. They cannot be trusted and should not be allowed to become Trojan horses for the withdrawing Americans.
As for its friends, such as Iran, Russia, China, and the popular forces that helped beat back the American-Arab-Zionist supported terrorists, the government of Syria is right in concluding important agreements with them, aware of the fact that as in the days of war, in the reconstruction phase as well, these countries and groups can be counted upon.
It was also heartening to learn that the recent talks in Damascus between President Assad and Falih al-Fayyadh the special representative of Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi and the prospective Interior Minister, covered many of the above issues in a friendly atmosphere, plus the right to the government and popular forces of Iraq to launch cross-border operations against terrorists and those deemed danger to the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Syria.

Armed Struggle Only Solution to End Palestinian Plight

The plight of the Palestinians knows no end. Not a day passes when they are not targeted by the usurpers of their homeland, whether in besieged Gaza, whether in the West Bank, or whether in the occupied Islamic holy city of Bayt al-Moqaddas.
They are killed like sitting ducks by the Zionist soldiers or the Jewish settlers streaming in illegally from various parts of the world to seize the lands of the Palestinians and to practice their skills with newly acquired rifles by taking potshots at the helpless men, women, and children.
And if the Palestinians dare to defend themselves, they are branded ‘terrorists’ and denounced as ‘heartless brutes’, with the western media joining the Zionists to highlight ‘violent crimes’ against the ‘peaceful’ and ‘peace-loving’ Israelis.

The UN, especially its Security Council, looks the other way, while the regimes ruling the Arab states have no interest, other than lip service, for the chronic question of Palestine.
This indifference has emboldened the Zionists to trespass with impunity on the sacred sites of Islam in the usurped land, as was evident the other day when soldiers and the so-called settlers joined together to desecrate the holy precincts of al-Aqsa Mosque.

Day before yesterday, Palestinian worshippers gathering for the weekly Friday congregational prayer at Islam’s third holiest site were barred by the Zionist soldiers, who closed the gates and fired teargas shells and live ammunition at the helpless protestors, accusing them of pelting stones and throwing combustibles.
It is obvious that no true Muslim will resort to such violence at a holy site and if there were such incidents as claimed by the Zionists then this should be the dirty work of the illegal Jewish settlers clamouring for destruction of the sacred Islamic precincts and the building of a temple in its place.

Not an eyebrow was raised by Arab reactionary regimes at the latest sacrilege in Occupied Bayt al-Moqaddas, or the unabated killing of peaceful protestors in Gaza by the Zionists, while the Saudis and Emiratis continued to shed Muslim blood in Yemen while labelling all sorts of wild accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran for its defence of the oppressed and the downtrodden.

It is time for the Palestinians to realize that mere protests in Bayt al-Moqaddas, stone-throwing at the heavily armed Zionists in the West Bank, and combustible kites coupled with a few crude rockets fired at the occupiers of their homelands from Gaza, although commendable acts, are not enough to scare their enemies, let alone drive them away from the usurped land of Palestine.

They should take a leaf from the uncompromising spirit and innovative methods of Lebanon’s legendry anti-terrorist movement, the Hezbollah, or the indomitable heroism of Yemen’s popular Ansarallah Movement against invaders possessing state-of-the-art military technology.

In other words, only a well-organized armed struggle with asymmetric forms of modern warfare, including guided missiles and remote-controlled radar-evading drones, is the only solution to redress their plight that requires further sacrifices in view of the savage racist and terroristic nature of Israel, which eventually will be.

This technology, in addition to being available on the international market, can be assembled through accessible data on the websites, and there is no shortage of helping hands. All it needs is ingenuity by the Palestinians, as the Yemenis have shown with complete trust in Divine Assistance and full confidence in their own abilities.

It is certainly no crime nor terrorism for an oppressed, occupied and usurped people, to acquire whatever forms of defence equipment that is possible to procure through any means in order to protect their life, their dignity, their land, their families, their faith and their heritage.
The important point, however, is to be on guard against pressures, threats, and deception of both the implacable foes like the US, Britain, and France; and those feigning to be friends such as the UN, the Saudis, the Emiratis, the Qataris, the Kuwaitis, and the Egyptians.

In other words, unless the Palestinians resist and refuse with firm conviction any of those much-tried useless methods of talks, negotiations, and mediation that have yielded no results over the past seven decades, their situation will never change, let alone their steady slide into not just second or third class citizens, but slaves of the Zionists in their own ancestral land.

Fortune favours the brave, and any laxity will be a costly lapse that might delay the march of the forces gathering in the vicinity of Palestine in scores of thousands for liberation of Islam’s former qibla.
