TEHRAN – Bahrain's Foreign Minister, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, is scheduled to visit Tehran.
Al Zayani will attend the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) meeting, set to take place on Monday in the Iranian capital.
During his visit, he will also have a bilateral meeting with Iran's acting Foreign Minister, Ali Baqeri Kani.
The meeting will convene over 30 foreign delegations, including ministers, deputy ministers, relevant foreign ministry deputies, general secretaries of regional organizations, and special envoys from member nations. This varied representation highlights the extensive support for the ACD’s mission.
Iran has led the ACD since late 2023, taking over from Bahrain's two-year leadership. The ACD, founded in 2002 in Thailand and based in Kuwait, is a unique forum uniting 35 Asian countries. It aims to integrate Asian nations into a unified community without duplicating other organizations or forming exclusive groups.
A key objective of the ACD is to leverage and unify Asia's strengths, boosting the continent's global competitiveness. By capitalizing on Asia's diversity and abundant resources, the ACD strives to create a robust and cohesive Asian community, promoting cooperation and shared growth.
This ministerial meeting in Tehran is a crucial event for the ACD, providing a platform for member countries to reaffirm their commitment to regional unity and cooperation, and setting the stage for a more integrated and prosperous Asia.
