TEHRAN, (MNA) – Head of Iran’s Space Agency Hassan Salariyeh announced the operation of the first phase of the Chabahar space launch base in the new year.
Regarding the construction of a space base to access various space orbits, Salariyeh said that Chabahar base is a large exclusive base and has several phases that are being completed, adding that according to the plans, the first phase of Chabahar base will be put into operation with the first research and operational launches in the current Iranian year of 1403.
He added that with the completion of the Chabahar base and the start of launches from it, the country's access to different space orbits will be greatly extended.
Regarding the number of space bases in the country, the Head of Iran’s Space Agency said that currently, the exclusive Chabahar space base is being completed and other bases are at the disposal of the Ministry of Defense and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force which can be used for space launches.
