US fully responsible for situation in Hamas-Israeli conflict

TEHRAN, (MNA) – Washington bears full responsibility for events unfolding in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"The entire current collapse on the territory [of the Gaza Strip], where a colossal tragedy related to the Palestinian-Israeli confrontation has unfolded, is completely and fully the responsibility of the United States, or, rather, I should say, [due to] the irresponsibility [of the US]. It is only they [who are responsible]," she told the Sputnik radio station.

According to the senior Russian diplomat, it was precisely Washington’s policies that have served as the primary sources of tension in the conflict zone.

Israel waged the war on Gaza on October 7 after Hamas conducted Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Since the start of the aggression, the Tel Aviv regime has killed over 15,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and left vast swathes of the coastal enclave in ruins. An additional 7,000 Palestinians are missing and believed to be under the rubble.

Israel has also imposed a “complete siege” on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
