Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to dialogue and the adoption of political solutions to bilateral and regional problems.
It is noteworthy that the Omani senior official has taken trip to Tehran to attend the Joint Strategic Consultation Committee meeting.
Reminding Oman's special status among Iran's neighboring countries, Amir-Abdollahian stressed the efforts of the two sides to upgrade the volume of the trading transactions at the level of cordial ties between Iran and Oman.
Oman plays an active role in mediating and calming the situation in coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran, the policy which is seen by Iran as important and valuable.
In the field of maritime security, the Sea of Oman, the Strait of Hormuz, as well as in the issue of Yemen and other regional events, there is good coordination between Iran and Oman. With emphasis on these indicators; the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed hope that the efforts of all countries in the region, especially Iran and Oman, would pave the way for putting an end to the Yemeni crisis. The Omani Deputy Foreign Minister also expressed hope that the Yemeni crisis would end as soon as possible, saying: "Oman welcomes and supports peaceful ideas and negotiations to reduce regional problems."
The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that achieving sustainable security and regional development will be possible through the cooperation and collective participation of neighbors. From this perspective, Iran's regional policy can be analyzed around three objectives:
The first goal; the emphasis is on sustainable security in the region and the negation of destabilizing currents in the region.
The second goal; Positive action is aimed at eliminating insecurity in the region and building trust in constructive and friendly relations between the region and neighboring countries.
The third goal; To provide constructive perspectives to create common security solutions to end regional conflicts and wars with the cooperation of countries in the region. Experience has shown that collective interests will be realized within the framework of cooperation and understanding.
With tensions between the countries of the region, the conflict remains and this is only in the interest of the interveners and foreigners. The importance of this issue becomes clear when a common understanding is reached in recognizing the insecurity factors in the region.
Dialogue and consultation on regional issues in the new international context can help build understanding among the countries of the region. Unfortunately, some regional actors have caused insecurity and instability in the region by insisting on continuing their belligerent policies. The propaganda atmosphere of the United States and the Israeli circles and some European countries about the regional role and defense capabilities of Iran in the context of the 'Vienna' negotiations for the lifting of US sanctions is progressing and achieving the same goal.
In its foreign policy, the Islamic Republic of Iran seeks stability and security and having the best relations with its neighbors. In addition to economic aspects, Iran's good with its neighbors are also strategically important for maintaining collective security in the region. Economic, trade and investment between neighbors is of course to the benefit of all countries in the region. Interfering and destructive elements in the region are well aware that the definitive result of improving relations between Iran and neighboring countries is strengthening regional security without the need for foreigners in all arenas. Iran's security policy in the region is based on the doctrine of collective security, and accordingly, Iran considers insecurity in the region to the detriment of all countries in the region.
The current situation in the region demands that dialogue and negotiation to resolve disputes must be replaced by hostile tensions and approaches.
