Imam Khomeini, only person closest to prophet's character

Shahr-e Rey, IRNA- The representative of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Iran Nasser Abu Sharif believes the late Founder of the Islamic Republic in Iran, Imam Khomeini, was the only person in contemporary history whose character is close to that of the Holy Prophet of Islam.

He told the international conference on "Imam Khomeini and the contemporary world" on Thursday evening that the late Imam was the only person who reached this degree of divine closeness in all times.

He pointed out that before the Islamic revolution, the world of Islam lived in modern ignorance, but Imam Khomeini caused people to return from ignorance to the twentieth century.

Abu Sharif stated that at the beginning of the 20th century, Imam revived Islam the first achievement of which was the freedom of the Iranian people leading to basic and fundamental changes in Iran.

Pointing to the fact that Imam Khomeini's opinion to create an Islamic state was based on competence and choice, he expressed: To me, the Islamic Republic is the only country in the world that is qualified to lead the world in a religious, social, economic and political path.

The representative of Islamic Jihad in Iran further stated that the Islamic Revolution is not only for the Iranian people, but also a revolution for Islam and the humanity, that’s why the revolution was able to create a great tsunami in the region and the world, especially Palestine.

He continued that the axis of resistance was created after the revolution and could bring about great changes in the world.
