The Syrian Army Confronts “ISIS” Attack on “Athria – Khanaser”

On Tuesday, the Syrian army responded to a sudden attack by "ISIS" armed groups on the area between the towns of "Athria", northeast of Hama, and "Khanaser", southeast of Aleppo.
The sources indicated that "Syrian army members detected an infiltration attempt by ISIS terrorists that aims to approach their military points, then violent clashes erupted between the two parties on a number of axes and points in the region."
According to the sources, the Syrian army was able to counter the attack on all the targeted military points, with no withdrawal, killing and wounding about  30 ISIS militants, with limited losses and injuries within the Syrian army."
The area between Athria and Khanaser is considered a vast desert in which some ISIS cells are hidden, and it is connected geographically ​​to the Al-Tanf area, which is under the control of the American army and its armed groups.
