IRGC Chief Warns ‘Old Hyena of Colonialism’

TEHRAN (Kayhan Intl.) -- The chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said on Thursday the enemies have backed off from driving Iran’s oil exports down to zero, reminding them that they will have to keep retreating as long as the Islamic Republic’s legitimate demands are not met.
"The enemy must continue to retreat as long as Iran’s legitimate demands are not recognized,” Major General Hussein Salami said in the southwestern city of Ahvaz on Thursday.
The same enemy that once claimed it would not let the export of "a single drop of Iranian oil” has now backed off in the wake of a failure, the top commander noted.
He also warned the foreign enemies of a harsh response to any attempts to taint Iran’s dignity, warning the "old hyena of colonialism” - the UK - that if it dares to defy the Iranian nation, the Islamic Republic’s naval forces will "take its ship out of four American and British warships” and bring it to the coast.
The IRGC captured British oil tanker "Stena Impero” at the Strait of Hormuz on July 19 for violating the international maritime law, saying even a Royal Navy’s frigate escorting the tanker failed to prevent the Iranian commandos from carrying the mission.
Meanwhile, a senior Iranian lawmaker highlighted the U.S. failure to incite hostility with Tehran, saying Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have backed away from escalating tensions with Tehran.
Member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Heshmatollah Falahatpishe said the U.S. has exhausted all possibilities in imposing sanctions on Iran and has become thoroughly confused about responding to the Islamic Republic.
The MP said the U.S. foreign policy entails an escalation of hostility between Iran and its neighbors, however, the U.S. strategy to create a regional coalition against Iran has received a negative reaction.
"We saw in the region that even Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are concerned about an attrition crisis, so they gave Iran the green light and have refrained from entering new challenges against Iran in the recent months,” Falahatpishe stated.
While the U.S. has become internationally isolated, the UK fell into the trap of following Washington’s failed policies because of its traditional ties with the U.S., committed an act of piracy, and is now looking for a way out of the crisis, he noted.
