Warsaw conference will not yield results for US: Expert

Moscow, Jan 15, IRNA - A Russian expert commented that US policy in the Middle East was unsuccessful and stressed that the Warsaw anti-Iran conference would not help advance US goals and policies in the Middle East and would end without result.

The head of the Center for Middle East and Central Asia Studies and former MP of the state Duma of Russian Federation Semyon Bagdasarov said in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Tuesday that it was clear to anyone that US support for terrorists, especially the ISIS terrorist group, was part of the government's policy for creating chaos in the Middle East.

The Russian expert believes that some Middle Eastern leaders only follow the United States to maintain their throne and they see their security in jeopardy without Washington's support.

'The main purpose of the Warsaw conference is to advance Iranophobia plan by the United States, and Iranophobia form the centerpiece of the Middle East policy of the White House. Iran has a better position than the United States in the region, for example in Iraq Iran has a lot of influence, while Iraq was occupied 15 years ago by the US,' the expert noted.

The former Duma MP said that in Syria, the United States has not benefited from its multi-year military presence and has been forced to withdraw its troops from the country due to the multibillion-dollar cost.
