Chinese researcher terms Persian music as fascinating, creative

A Chinese musician and researcher believes that Iranian music has many elements of grandeur from charm to creativity, tolerance and popularity.

Speaking to IRNA on Saturday, Zhao Zhuoqun, who is considered the first Chinese female scholar to study Iranian music, said that due to the poor knowledge of Chinese musicians about the Iranian music, she has tried to conduct profound studies about Iranian music in principle by not confining herself to just European and American writings.
Referring to the fact that most of the writings on Iranian music are related to other countries, she underlined, "By traveling to Iran, I realized that Persian music, like the land itself, has many secrets."
She said it was very interesting for her to enter this fascinating world.
She further pointed to her extensive work on Iranian music where she found that Iranian scholars have great skill and mastery over their work.
Zhao stressed that she has done an analytical 20,000-word research work in both audiovisual and Iranian music, adding that the results of this research on music, as well as other fields of Iranian culture, were published in Nan Jing University's journal as the first research on Iranian music published in a prestigious academic journal of China.
