With the liberation of Dara’a by the Syrian army almost complete and throngs of haggard and homesick refugees returning to their destroyed towns and cities from the makeshift camps across the border in Jordan after more than seven years of a miserable life, many without their grownup sons and daughters, the questions being asked by the returnees are:
Why did we bite the terrorist bait? What made us listen to the insinuations of the West and the Arab reactionary regimes in destroying our own country?
Even though, the Syrian government and its allies are providing them all relief aid, including medical checkup, food and temporary housing, until they recover from the trauma of displacement to rebuild their ruined homes, remorse of a fatal mistake, if not sin of treason, heavily weighs upon them.
These returnees had made the costly blunder of either yielding to pressure to collaborate with the terrorists who ignited the first sparks of sedition in March 2011, or simply fleeing in panic across the border to Jordan, when they could have organized resistance to drive out the enemies of their homeland – as the brave residents of the two long-besieged northern towns of Foua and Kefraya in Idlib Province had done, to keep at bay the macabre head-chopping and liver-chewing Takfiris.
The result has been catastrophic due to an unwarranted insurgency against the government, with over 500,000 Syrians killed and more than ten million others displaced from their homes since 2011, in addition to the loss of sons who were either brutally killed by the US-Saudi terrorists who browbeat the rest of the population into submission, or were used as frontline fodder for the Takfiri advance towards Damascus.
And of course, the permanent loss to indignity and lasting shame of young daughters, whom the oil-rich Sheikhs of the Persian Gulf statelets regularly took away from the refugee camps of Jordan as playmates to satisfy their lust, with the end result being prostitution.
The tragedy of Syria, which has still not ended, while the West, the Zionists and the reactionary Arabs chuckle in sadistic joy at the destruction of a once powerful frontline nation that had been defending Arab-Islamic dignity against Israel’s expansionist designs, ought to serve as a warning and a lesson to the peoples of other countries whom the US is trying to incite against their governments.
Treason never pays and could be considered a mass suicide when people allow themselves to be deceived by the propaganda of enemies posing as friends, and end up in complete misery, in addition to the deaths and destruction that sedition invites.
Thus, what happened in Syria, should be a permanent eye-opener for all Muslims against the Machiavellian designs of their common enemies, who failed because of the timely help to President Bashar al-Assad by friendly states like Iran and Russia, and popular mobilization forces such as Lebanon’s legendry anti-terrorist movement, the Hezbollah.
Of course, Syria’s Sunni Muslim majority army and people stood firmly besides the government despite the divisive Arab-Western propaganda of President Assad being a member of the Alawite minority.
This proves it is a myth that the US can change governments it doesn’t like because of their independent and anti-Zionist policies. Further proof in this regard is the steadfastness of the people of Yemen who have rallied under the banner of the popular Ansarallah Movement to frustrate the onslaughts of the heavily armed US-backed Saudi-Emirati invaders, despite the Arab-Western propaganda that resistance leader, Seyyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, is a Zaydi Shi’a Muslim.
Now with the Syrian forces conducting mopping up operations of terrorists in Quneitra near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, it is matter of time for President Assad to order the liberation of American-controlled Raqqa Province as well as Idlib Province, where the last of Takfiri terrorists are hiding.
With the 7,000 people (5,000 resident and 2,000 fighters) of the Shi’ite Muslim villages of Foua and Kefraya safely evacuated to Aleppo under a deal that allowed fleeing terrorists from Dara’a and Quneitra to go to Idlib, it is now the right time for the government of Syria to end once and for all the presence of the accursed Takfiri terrorists on its soil.
At the moment Kefraya and Foua maybe empty of their original inhabitants and nothing remains except the heroic memories of the martyrs and the graves of the ancestors, but it is only a matter of time for the liberation of the whole of Idlib and the return of the recently evacuated people to their homes and hearths.
