TEHRAN, (MNA) – The Iranian city of Isfahan is famous for its Persian–Muslim architecture, grand boulevards, covered bridges, palaces, tiled mosques, and minarets. It also has many historical buildings, monuments, paintings, and artifacts.

The fame of Isfahan led to the Persian proverb Esfahān nesf-e-jahān ast (Isfahan is half (of) the world).
During the Nowruz holidays Isfahan attracts many visitors from all around the country.
According to the governor-general of Isfahan province, Mehdi Jamalinejad, more than 5.3 million people have visited Isfahan’s historical and cultural attractions since the beginning of the Nowruz holidays.
