Russian analyst says US violated Pakistan MoU, affirms Iran as sole guarantor of Strait of Hormoz security

Tehran, IRNA – An international affairs analyst from Russia’s Peoples’ Friendship University denounces the United States for violating all terms of its agreement with Iran and declares that Tehran serves as the exclusive guarantor of security in the Strait of Hormuz.

Farhad Ibrahimov in an exclusive interview told IRNA that Washington has violated all the terms of the agreement signed with Tehran.

He emphasized that given Iran’s insistence on its national interests, there is no guarantee that attempts to design alternative transit routes in the Strait of Hormuz will succeed.

“It must be understood that the Strait of Hormuz was always peaceful until the US began its baseless aggression against Iran,” Ibrahimov stated, adding, “Trump, the US President, has claimed that the United States provided security in this strait for free for 50 years, but now intends to monetize it. This raises the question: what danger existed in the Strait of Hormuz that required the US to provide security for 50 years?”

The Russian expert clarified that Trump has simply decided to turn the Strait of Hormuz into another business venture and is displeased that Iran maintains control over it.

“By exercising control over the Strait of Hormuz, Iran is showing the US and the entire world that it negotiates with Washington from a position of equality; Iran will not surrender or compromise its national interests, which is highly significant. Under these circumstances, the aggressive behavior of the Americans is predictable,” He added.

Ibrahimov emphasized that even if the Americans attempt to create a transit route on the Omani side of the Strait of Hormuz, they have no full confidence or guarantee of success, because today Iran is the exclusive observer, or rather, “the exclusive guarantor of security in the Strait of Hormuz.”

He continued that in this specific matter, the US has fallen into severe confusion and passivity.

This confusion could cost Trump dearly, as the US president who has spent all this time blackmailing and threatening Iran will find no success awaiting him.

The lecturer recalled that the US violated all the terms of the agreement with Iran, which he considered unnatural and unstable from the start.

“Because Trump does not need peace with Iran; rather, he desires war and victory,” he stressed, reiterating that the US will not achieve victory in its current aggression against Iran.

“This is why they have put new aggressions and provocative actions in the Strait of Hormuz and southern Iran on their agenda, in an attempt to ignite another round of all-out war, Ibrahimov concluded.
