Following the announcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon, the political bureau of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement issued a statement congratulating the fighters of Hezbollah movement and the Lebanese people on this “historic” victory.
The statement added that this achievement was the result of “heroic” steadfastness of the resistance which led to the humiliating defeat of the Israeli army and its clear failure to achieve any of its war’s declared objectives.
"The heavy losses inflicted on the enemy ultimately forced it to surrender and accept a ceasefire in Lebanon," the movement said.
The Yemeni movement also stressed that this victory is the great fruit of the unity among the members of the axis of resistance, which extends from Palestine and Iran to Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq.
On Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced the ceasefire during a White House address, saying the truce would take effect at midnight Lebanon time.
A Lebanese parliamentarian from the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc said Iran’s ambassador in Beirut informed Lebanese officials that a ceasefire will begin Thursday night, describing the agreement as the result of Iranian diplomatic efforts.
Hassan Fadlallah, a member of the Lebanese parliament, said Iranian authorities will monitor US compliance with its commitments under the agreement. He added that the resumption of Iran-US negotiations is contingent upon the implementation of these commitments.
Fadlallah also stressed that Hezbollah’s adherence to the ceasefire depends on a complete halt to all hostile actions.
Outraged Israeli political figures cried foul after the announcement of the Lebanon ceasefire and Iran’s role in securing it.
Itan Davidi, head of the illegal settlement of Margaliot, told Israel’s Channel 12 that the agreement was not a victory but "a disgrace and a complete surrender to Iran and the United States."
Washington had initially accepted Tehran’s 10-point plan that included a Lebanon ceasefire, before backtracking following lobbying from Israel.
Iran threatened to boycott the Islamabad talks if attacks on Lebanon were not scaled back, prompting the US to press Israel on the matter, according to multiple reports.
Hamas: Israel once again failed
The spokesman for Palestinian resistance movement Hamas said that the Islamic resistance in Lebanon, by imposing a ceasefire on Israel, has once again shown the inability of the occupying regime to achieve its goals.
"The Islamic resistance in Lebanon has proven Israel's inability to impose the will of the occupying regime on the dynamic forces of the Lebanese people," Hazem Qassem added.
Popular Resistance Committees: Ceasefire proves Israel’s defeat
The Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees, a coalition of resistance groups, also described the ceasefire as a great victory for the Islamic resistance and Hezbollah.
The statement noted that the Islamic Republic’s insistence on including Lebanon in the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the US shows the most magnificent example of solidarity among the members of the axis of resistance and emphasizes that the position of the axis of resistance is “firm and strategic and can change the calculations of the enemies.
“This is a decisive message to the enemy, showing that unity of fronts is not a slogan, but a principle that will remain like a blazing fire against all the tyrants of the time, from the Zionists to the arrogant Americans.”
The statement also pointed out that Hezbollah’s steadfastness and the painful blows it dealt to the Zionist enemy, “have created a different equation on the field”, thwarting the enemy’s ability to achieve its goals and forcing the US to pursue diplomatic solutions to protect its interests.
