Although certain self-styled analysts, knowing little about politics and nothing about the democracy, have hailed the meeting in the White House between the fascist US president and the socialist mayor-elect of New York as the versatility of the West’s capitalist system, the outcome is not what it looks like at first sight.
Zohran Mamdani, the first ever mayor of an American metropolitan city, spoke the truth when he called for end of the US taxpayers’ money to fund forever wars, especially Israel’s genocide in Gaza, while the crafty Donald Trump simply smiled without promising anything.
The 34-year old should be extra cautious about the 78-year old – more than double his age.
Trump is not a person to be trusted. His words carry no weight. Only naïve persons believe in him.
Trump has committed the unpardonable terrorism of assassinating Iran’s Hammer of Terrorism, General Qasim Soleimani, and the unprovoked bombing of three of Iran’s civilian nuclear installations last June.
Mamdani did not raise his earlier warning of arresting mass murderer Benjamin Netanyahu if he stepped in New York, but denounced the US-supported genocide in Gaza.
Answering a reporter’s question, the mayor-elect reiterated that Israel has been “committing genocide” in Gaza and his assertion that US taxpayers’ dollars are helping to fund it.
Mamdani clarified that he had “spoken about the Israeli [regime] committing genocide and I’ve spoken about our government funding it.”
“I shared with the president in our meeting about the concern that many New Yorkers have about wanting their tax dollars to go toward the benefit of New Yorkers and their ability to afford basic dignity,” Mamdani said.
“There’s a desperate need not only for the following of human rights but also the following through on the promises we’ve made New Yorkers.”
Let us see what will be outcome of the meeting between the representative of the waning capitalist system and the rising star of socialism in New York.
