Iranian president-elect vows to form inclusive cabinet

TEHRAN – Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian announced that the first priority of his forthcoming administration will be to establish a national consensus cabinet.

This pledge was made during a meeting with representatives of his presidential campaign in Tehran on Tuesday.

Pezeshkian emphasized that his administration intends to assemble a cabinet comprising individuals of integrity, experience, and expertise, committed to implementing the broad policies outlined by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

"Our administration will work diligently to maintain unity and cohesion and to serve the people of our Islamic nation," Pezeshkian declared. He underscored the importance of earning public trust, viewing it as a measure of effective governance.

Acknowledging the challenges posed by severe international sanctions, Pezeshkian called for national solidarity. "We must all unite to counter our enemies, who seek to undermine our independence," he stated. By fostering unity, he believes that the Iranian people can demonstrate their dignity and pride on the global stage.

Pezeshkian also touched on Iran's stance on international justice, asserting that Iranian authorities have a duty to oppose oppression worldwide. "Wherever the rights of the oppressed are ignored, we will stand with them," he affirmed.

Masoud Pezeshkian was elected as the ninth president of Iran in the second round of the presidential elections, garnering the majority of votes on July 5th.

The inauguration ceremony for the president will be held on the 4th of August with the presence of the head of the Supreme Court, members of the Guardian Council, the head of the Judiciary, and other national and military officials in the Parliament, during which the elected president will be sworn in according to article 121 of the Constitution to utilize all his abilities and capacities in fulfilling the responsibilities he has undertaken.

'Iran stands with Palestine'

In response to a congratulatory message from Ziyad al-Nakhalah, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, Masoud Pezeshkian expressed Iran's solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Pezeshkian stated, "The people and government of Iran, guided by the teachings of the late Imam Khomeini and the directives of the Leader of Islamic Revolution, stand with the Palestinian people. We support their struggle for the liberation of Al-Quds, the dismantling of the Zionist regime, and the achievement of their fundamental rights."

He continued, "The oppressed people of Gaza, who are currently enduring severe aggression from the Zionist regime, have shown extraordinary resilience with divine assistance. They are recognized globally as symbols of resistance and patience in the face of adversity."
