Iranian Ambassador to Stockholm Ahmad Masoudifar said Tehran holds the West accountable as it fueled the recent unrests in Iran.
The diplomat made the remark in an interview with Swedish publication Afton Bladet, during which he also shed some light on the recent developments in Iran and the role of CENTCOM’s psychological warfare in the riots.
Masoudifar said the unfortunate passing of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who died in a Tehran hospital a few days after collapsing at a police station in the capital, was bitter and painful news for all Iranians.
“In the aftermath of [the tragic event], many of our people and top officials, including Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi himself, demanded a special investigation and immediate judicial look into the issue,” he further noted.
The Iranian envoy said in such an emotionally fraught context, adversarial states' actors seized the opportunity to “harvest decades of investment in the destabilization of our country and guide civil protest toward insurrectionist violence”.
He then emphasized that Amini’s autopsy report, on which every major medical organization of Iran was a participant, concluded that based on her medical history, a CT scan of her brain and lungs, examination of the corpse, pathology, and necropsy that the death was caused by severe hypoxia and subsequent brain failure.
In this special case, he stated, the report has been made public and is open to be medically peer-reviewed.
“This finding seriously questions the narrative spread across Western media that claim Amini was ‘severely beaten’ by Iranian police before falling into a coma. The unrest has subsided in recent days, but Iran holds Western nations responsible and accountable for their role in fueling the unrests and the losses incurred on the civilians and authorities who have been its victims,” the diplomat said.
The key strategy was the creation of multiple sham media outlets publishing content in Farsi, he added.
He then noted that Tehran expects the Swedish government not to pass judgments before they have access to all the facts.
