Lavrov: Iran-Russia comprehensive document of relation in final stage

Tehran, IRNA - Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday that the Iran-Russia comprehensive document of relation is in the final stage.

Lavrov met and held talks with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian in Russia on Wednesday.

Lavrov noted that Moscow is fully satisfied with the final text of the deal to revive the nuclear deal at the current stage, adding that Russia did all that it should do a long time ago, Sputnik news agency reported.

He underlined that Russia is completely satisfied with the current text of this agreement and as it is now known, Russia will take into account the position of Iran.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Russian Foreign Minister noted that the works on the Iran-Russia comprehensive document of relation are in the final stages.

Expressing his satisfaction with developing bilateral relations, Lavrov underscored that they are achieving a new qualitative level that will be determined in a major agreement between Iran and Russia, and working on this document is now in the final stage.

Referring to the crisis in Ukraine, Amirabdollahian, for his part, said that he has proposed ways for putting an end to the crisis in Ukraine and has discussed the humanitarian crisis in the country. 

The Iranian foreign minister also pointed out that he is carrying an important message from a European leader to the Russian officials. 

Pointing out that Iran is serious about reaching a sustainable agreement, he said that if the American side acts realistically and if the negotiating parties further strengthen the existing text, an agreement is not out of reach.
