The event was co-organized by the International Union of Adolescents and Youth against the Occupation, the Iran-based Society for the Defense of the Palestinian Nation, and the Tehran Provincial Athletics Committee.
More than 100 participants competed in various sports fields.
Political and cultural figures, representatives of Palestinian and Lebanese resistance groups, Palestinian activists, and some Iranian professional athletes attended the event.
Abdul Salam Ismail Haniyeh, Vice President of the Palestinian Council for Youth and Sports and a member of the Executive Office of the Palestine Olympic Committee, sent a video message to the athletics event in memory of Martyr Mohammad Al-Dara, thanking the organizers of the event.

He expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the event, especially the Secretary-General of the International Union of Adolescents and Youth against the Occupation, and sincerely thanked all the athletes who participated in this event with the aim of solidarity with the Palestinian people, especially Palestinian children.
In this video message, he announced: “On behalf of all Palestinian athletes, we thank all athletes from Arab and Islamic countries, especially athletes from the Islamic Republic of Iran, who oppose the occupation of the Zionist regime and the efforts of some countries to normalize relations with this occupying regime.”
"Today, we are proud of the athletes of Islamic countries who support our oppressed nation in sports fields and refuse to face the sports representatives of the occupying regime. By doing so, the athletes are declaring that the occupation is in fact a cancerous tumor in the Holy Land of Palestine and that they cannot prove themselves by normalizing sports and culture,” he added.
Referring to Iranian participants in the events, the Palestinian official said that “athletes in the Islamic Republic of Iran, by holding such big events and sports programs, help us to declare that we are against the Judaization of Quds and the normalization of relations with the occupying regime.”
“I thank Iran’s Leader and the friendly nation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and all the youth of this country, especially the Iranian athletes who stand by the Palestinian athletes and other freedom-seeking athletes and oppose any normalization of relations with the Zionist regime,” Abdulsalam Ismail Haniyeh stressed.
