War of the Consulates Detrimental to the US

By: Kayhan Int’l

The current diplomatic spat between the US and China might take a turn for the worse, given the criminal nature of the administration of Donald Trump.
The man at the helm of affairs in the White House is not just an idiot but an embodiment of everything evil. As the saying goes "birds of the same feather flock together”, he has surrendered himself with like-minded thugs, chief among them the gangster Mike Pompeo who masquerades as Secretary of State.
Imagine the world’s most notorious spies who use the diplomatic camouflage to poke their dirty noses in the affairs of host countries, accusing the Chinese of espionage.
Although the US closure of the Chinese consulate in Houston on charges of espionage, preceded months, if not years of American lawlessness in militarizing the breakaway Chinese island of Taiwan, backing rebellious elements in Hong Kong, and sending naval forces to the South China Sea, in the midst of a losing trade war and suicidal sanctions, Trump and team who mischievously call the uncontrollable Covid-19 pandemic ‘Chinese virus’, have clearly blundered against Beijing.
China has retaliated by ordering closure of the US consulate in Chengdu, and if these tit-for-tat measures were to spiral out of control in election year in view of the impeached Trump’s unprincipled bid to retain the presidency, the person whom the North Korean Head of State has dismissed as a "dotard”, will discredit forever whatever prestige that Washington has in the world, rather than causing any harm to China.
The Chinese are heirs to a millennia-old civilization, and unlike the upstart Americans, they very well know the art of both diplomacy and defence, in addition to technological mastery.
The fire-breathing dragon, even if it is dismissed as an imaginary creature, is far more powerful in intimidating the American psyche than the vanishing breed of the bald-headed eagle which after constantly being de-feathered and declawed holds no awe for the Chinese.
President Xi Jinping, the mastermind behind turning the ancient Silk Road into the modern Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) is too experienced a politician to be provoked by the idiotic Trump.
Beijing has many aces up its sleeves, and in case the war of the consulates were to assume different aspects, Washington, which relies mainly on propaganda and roguishness, will definitely be the loser.
In other words, Trump, who is miserably cornered on his home turf by the nationwide protests of the past two months against his racist policies, and in a clumsy attempt to deflect attention indulges in more outlaw behaviour such as last Thursday’s attempt to scare an Iranian passenger plane in Syrian airspace with two jet fighters, will surely regret the day he was born if he picks up a fight with the Chinese.
Reports of the emerging long term Iran-China accord that promises to be an economic bonanza for the two countries, is already driving the US crazy, and when Russia joins this as the Eurasian pole to attract the rest of the free world, perhaps even several European countries, then the policymakers in Washington will indeed be reciting requiem for the ex-superpower, called the United States of America.
