Vows of vengeance ought to be swift, decisive, and so destructive for the cowardly terrorists, whether state or non-state actors, that they should never again think of committing another crime.
If not, the hardened criminals become emboldened to commit more acts of terrorism by interpreting the victim’s patience and its waiting for the appropriate opportunity to retaliate, as a sign of weakness and inability.
Over six months have passed since the world’s most evil regime murdered two topmost anti-terrorist figures at Baghdad airport – one Iranian and the other Iraqi – it hasn’t been punished for its crime, a factor that has made it more audacious in indulging in further acts of terrorism, especially in Iraq as well as in Syria, where its uninvited presence is in violation of the UN charter.
Though Iran gave a "slap” for the innocent blood of General Qassem Soleimani by targeting the Ayn al-Assad US base in Iraq with a barrage of missiles that destroyed key infrastructure and injured over a hundred American terrorists, unfortunately the Iraqi government despite the parliament’s unanimous vote for expulsion of all Americans is still hesitating in showing the exit door to these criminals, which is indeed an insult to the sacred blood of Abu Mahdi Muhandis.
Syria, for its part, other than its periodic protests against occupation of part of its territory by the US, has neither taken direct action to oust American terrorists from the at-Tanf strip on the border with Iraq and the eastern Euphrates region, nor has it formally requested its allies who salvaged the country from the takfiri takeover bid, to swing into action to drive away the Americans.
The result has been proliferation of terrorism in the region by the US and its surrogate, the illegal Zionist entity, with full confidence that the devilish duo can get away with any crime against humanity, since the UN is an impotent body that mutely follows the directions of the thugs in Washington.
On Thursday, the Great Satan became so audacious that it sent its jet fighters from one of its illegal bases in the region to get dangerously close to an Iranian passenger plane on its scheduled flight via the commercial corridor from Tehran to Beirut.
This blatant act of terrorism in Syrian airspace, even if it was meant to merely intimidate the regular Mahan Air Flight 1152 and not attack it, spilled innocent blood when frightened passengers collided with each other as the plane swerved to avoid a possible collision, before landing safely in the Lebanese capital.
The point is that the unnecessary delay by governments and popular forces of the regional countries in punishing the CENTCOM terrorists has made these enemies of humanity more emboldened in committing crimes.
The latest act of American lawlessness was neither against Syria nor against Iraq, but against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and this entitles Tehran to swiftly act against the US, like it did last year when it downed the sophisticated spy drone that dared to venture into Iranian airspace in the Strait of Hormuz.
In the words of Iranian foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif: "The US illegally occupies territory of another state and then harasses a scheduled civil airliner—endangering innocent civilian passengers.”
He added: "These outlaws must be stopped before disaster, since they are compounding lawlessness upon lawlessness.”
Such words should be followed by action, since the US has no right to send its forces anywhere in West Asia, or for that matter anywhere in the world including the South China Sea.
The vengeance vowed at the time of martyrdom of General Soleimani should now strike the US terrorists, and should be of greater magnitude in retaliation for the recent act of lawlessness against the Mahan Air flight.
