Republicans' Tactical Retreat Due to the Spread of Anti-Racist Protests

Republicans' Tactical Retreat Due to the Spread of Anti-Racist Protests
Republicans, given Trump's irrational and provocative behavior in the face of anti-racist protests, have taken steps to somehow manage the growing trend of these crises.

NOURNEWS - Republican lawmakers in the U.S. Senate announced Tuesday (June 21st) that they are working on a plan to reform the police force and address the issue of racial injustice.
According to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, the party's only black member of the Senate, is set to be responsible for completing the plan.
Details of the bill have not yet been released, but the two-page draft of the bill, published by CNN, includes the establishment of investigative committees, in it citizens assist police agencies in investigating incidents in which violence has been used.
Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, a member of the Senate Working Group on the bill, said the bill focuses on at least two main issues, one on police reform and the other on racial discrimination, along with proposed reform of the criminal justice system.
It seams; Republicans, given Trump's irrational and provocative behavior in the face of this pervasive crisis, are working to somehow manage the growing trend of protests in a tactical way.
