Saudi Killing of Yemeni Journalists has US Blessings

By:Kayhan Int’l

The recent report of the killing of almost three hundred journalists in Yemen by the Saudi-UAE coalition of criminals over the past five years of the unprovoked war that Riyadh launched on the Arab world’s most impoverished country has not come as a surprise, especially in view of the bloody record against media persons of the evil mind behind the aggression directed by the U.S. and the U.K.
MBS (Mohamed bin Salman), the self-imposed Heir Apparent of senile King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, relishes murder. This was fully evident in October 2018 at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, where his specially sent team of henchmen sadistically sawed into pieces Washington Post Journalist, Jamal Khashoqchi, while still alive and groaning in severe pain.
In a country where there is no freedom of press and where the British-installed ruling family treats people as private property through heavy censoring of most news, including the bouts of genocide in the oil rich Eastern Province of the local oppressed Shi’a Muslim majority, the report released yesterday by The Yemeni Media Union on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day, will not even cause the least embarrassment.
On the contrary, the Saudis, who regard themselves as the blue-eyed boys of the US president with the license to commit any crime and go scot-free, are most surely thrilled at the number of deaths of Yemeni journalists in the devastating aerial raids they have carried on for the past five years, killing over a hundred thousand men, women, and children, and destroying the infrastructure of Yemen.
To them the killing of 90 Yemeni journalists alone in the 5th year of the war is an achievement to be proud of, since it removes from the scene more and more persons capable of disclosing to the outside world the gravity of the Saudi crimes against humanity that also include last Saturday’s targeting – for the umpteenth time – of at least eleven trucks carrying food and medicine in Yemen.
The Saudis also know the UN will also not pay any attention to the report of The Yemeni Media Union, which says "the coalition of aggressors has deliberately targeted radio stations and television networks on 30 occasions, and a total of 23 media facilities and institutions have been either totally or partially destroyed.”
After all, for the US, the Western regimes, the Zionist entity, and their Arab clients, ‘freedom of press’ or the life and safety of journalists are not more than political tools that should be used against independent countries, while whitewashing the state terrorism of Donald Trump and the thugs aligned to him.
This has been proven time and again all over the world, from the days of the Vietnam War to the current US-engineered crises plaguing our region, including Occupied Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Bahrain, and Yemen.
We in the Islamic Republic of Iran are indeed shocked by the report of The Yemen Media Union, and extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families for the irreparable loss.
The journalists who lost their lives are indeed "martyrs of the press”, and their innocent blood will definitely bear fruit in making the endeavours of the Yemeni media more determined to expose the crimes of the aggressors, which will not continue for long as is evident by the recent events on the battlefields of Yemen where the Saudis and their mercenaries are on the receiving end.
