Former parliament speaker of South Africa hailed the International Quds Day as an opportunity to voice solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Former African diplomat expressed sympathy with the oppressed Palestinian people and urged the international community to voice solidarity with the Palestinians.
“Marking the International Quds Day will show that Palestinian people are not alone in their fight against Israeli occupiers” she said and reiterated that the path to fight the apartheid regimes like Israel should not be forgotten.
Baleka Mbete censured the governments which have turned blind to the sufferings of the Palestinian people and called them to stand committed to their humane responsibilities rather than supporting the Israeli atrocities against Palestinian nation.
The long webinar was attended by prominent figures, religious and political activists, pro-Palestine figures and politicians from across the globe on the last Friday of holy month of Ramadan as the annual Quds Day rally was canceled in many countries due to the new coronavirus pandemic.
