The United Arab Emirates, or more properly Abu Dhabi the largest of the 7-state confederation, in its bid to outdo Saudi Arabia as the most slavish client of the US and the illegal Zionist entity, has started punching above its weight.
This is clear by its reckless foray into strife-torn Yemen, where with the blessings of its masters in London and Washington, it is committing all sorts of crimes against the poor war-stricken people, including the setting up of 18 secret prisons on Yemeni territory under its control to brutally torture and sexually abuse the hapless Yemenis lured by petro-dollars and deceived by the false promise of an independent Southern Yemen.
The Aal-e Nahyan clan, ruling Abu Dhabi and consequently the whole of the UAE by virtue of the size and wealth of their fiefdom, along with the Aal-e Saud clan and the Aal-e Khalifa clan of Bahrain, forms the notorious anti-Iran, anti-Qatar, anti-Yemen, anti-Syria, and anti-Iraq Trinity.
Although his antics and blunders, including the military misadventure in Yemen and the forced resignation of Lebanese Premier Sa’d Hariri that boomeranged upon him, have made Mohamed bin Salman (MBS) – who last year imposed himself as Heir Apparent on his ailing and senile father, King Salman – as villain of the piece, the evil mind running this triumvirate is actually Mohamed bin Zayed (MBZ), the Heir Apparent of his own senile step-brother, Khalifa bin Zayed, the nominal ruler of Abu Dhabi and the rubber stamp UAE president.
The articulate and crafty MBZ, as opposed to the rash and impetuous MBS, has overreaching ambitions and has no qualms in backstabbing his Saudi coalition partners or worsening the misery of the Yemeni people, as is evident by the gradual spreading of the Emirati tentacles in southern Yemen including the picturesque Socotra Island which is far from the turmoil gripping mainland Yemen.
MBS and his Jewish-looking foreign minister, Adel al-Jubair, may have exhausted themselves of their feverish propaganda tirade against the Islamic Republic of Iran, or maybe ordered by the US and Israel to shut up for the moment for being spoilsport with their meaningless garbage.
Their place has obviously been taken by MBZ and his foreign minister of state, Anwar Qarqash, who are leaving no stone unturned in their inherent enmity towards Iran, by never misses an opportunity to pour venom on the Islamic Republic – whether it is the US breach of the JCPOA, whether it is Trump’s theatrical twitter threat, whether it is Tehran’s support for Syria and Iraq to defeat the Takfiri terrorists, whether it is Hezbollah’s indomitable spirit against the Zionist entity, whether it is Hamas’ refusal to yield to Israel, or whether it is the heroic resistance of Ansarallah in foiling the UAE-Saudi joint bid to seize the port city of Hodeidah.
As the world’s attention is turned towards the futile air, sea and ground attacks on northern Yemen, the forces of MBZ, unable to dislodge the Ansarallah, are quietly tightening their tentacles on southern Yemen in the hope of securing trade routes through the port of Aden to the rest of the world by exploiting Yemen’s natural resources and empowering the UAE as a regional hegemon, at the expense of their supposed ally Saudi Arabia.
The Emiratis are further dividing the southern Yemenis by setting up the Hadhrami Elite Forces, which want an independent Hadhramaut rather than a unified southern Yemen, and at the same time are using oil wealth to set up bases in Djibouti, Eritrea, and possible Somalia, in order to keep control over the Bab al-Mandeb.
This expansionist plan will ultimately collapse given the odds against tiny UAE and the spirit of resistance of many local players from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea, especially after the recent long range drone attack on Abu Dhabi airport by the Ansarallah as a warning of the fate that eventually awaits over-ambitious MBZ.
Another indication in this regard was the recent statement of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who disclosed that he shunned an offer by MBZ to build an Islamic centre in that East African country by telling him that he had "lost” his religion.
Ahmad said that when MBZ told him: "We will help you with many things. We will teach you”; he retorted: "We don’t need to learn the religion from you. You’ve lost the religion. What we need is to learn Arabic quickly, so we could better understand the religion and teach it to you, and return you to it, since unlike what you are doing in the region, Islam is about peace, brotherhood and forgiveness.”
Hodeidah will be the waterloo of the UAE and its mercenary forces collected from poor African countries and certain Latin American states, no matter what military cover the US and Israel will provide MBZ and his ambitions.
Iran has offered peace and security to regional states on the platform of Islamic unity, but it seems that those who have no idea of the genuine teachings of Islam, have preferred to follow the Great Satan, and Insha Allah (God Willing) will meet their devilish doom.
