Exclusive | German activist says Iranians stand on the right side of history

Tehran, IRNA – A German political and social activist has praised the Iranian nation’s resilience in defending its independence and national sovereignty, saying the Iranian people are “standing on the right side of history” in the face of Western domination.

In an interview with IRNA, Fatemeh Rajaei, a German political and social activist, said the large turnout at the funeral ceremony of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, reflected the Iranian people’s determination to safeguard their country’s sovereignty and independence.

She said the massive public participation demonstrated not only profound grief over the Leader’s martyrdom but also the nation’s resolve to resist Western hegemony.

Contrary to the image presented by Western media, she argued, a significant portion of the Iranian people stand alongside the Islamic Republic and maintain deep affection for their martyred Leader.

Witnessing the large crowds and the public’s sorrow during the funeral ceremony was deeply moving, she added.

The activist criticized Western media coverage of the event, saying it failed to accurately reflect the ceremony's scale, attendance, and significance and instead sought to downplay it.

Rajaei said people around the world, regardless of Western media narratives, could recognize from the vast crowds and visible mourning that Iranians remain committed to defending the Islamic Republic, as well as their country’s independence and national sovereignty.

She also said Iranians are unafraid of threats and will continue to stand for Islam and their country, adding that many non-Muslims and opponents of imperialism also support the independence of the Islamic Republic and stand with the people of Iran, Lebanon, and Palestine.
