He emphasized that the eight-year war was not merely a military conflict, but a grand school for nurturing generations of faithful, selfless, and courageous individuals.

Bahmani highlighted the role of faith, unity, and divine will in Iran’s victory, stating that one of the major secrets of success during the Sacred Defense was the obedience of the people and armed forces to the commands of the late Imam Khomeini. This spiritual cohesion paved the way for safeguarding Iran’s territorial integrity. He added that today, just as in those years, it is essential to follow the guidance of the Supreme Leader to uphold Islamic values and strengthen the nation.
He continued by honoring the martyrs who proved with their blood that faith and national will are more powerful than any weapon. Veterans and war-disabled individuals demonstrated that the path of resistance has no end, and freed prisoners kept the message of dignity and freedom alive through patience and perseverance. The battlefronts, he said, were schools that not only repelled the enemy but also shaped great individuals for the future of Iran.Kurdistan’s Enduring Role in the Sacred Defense
Bahmani praised the people of Kurdistan for their vital role in the war, noting that brave Kurdish youth stood shoulder to shoulder with fighters from across the country. With over 5,000 martyrs and thousands of veterans and freed prisoners, they defended the Islamic homeland. He also acknowledged the sacrifices of patient and devoted families who offered their children for the sake of Islam and Iran.
Sacred Defense: A Guiding Light for Today’s Iran
He stressed that even decades later, the Sacred Defense remains a beacon for the Iranian people. It teaches that when faith in God and social unity come together, no military, cultural, or economic threat can defeat a nation. He warned against efforts by enemies of Islam to erase the values of the Sacred Defense through cultural and media tools.
Bahmani concluded by stating that commemorating the Sacred Defense is not limited to ceremonies and memorials—it must be reflected in honesty, justice, public service, and piety. He paid tribute to the martyrs and veterans, congratulated the people of Kurdistan and the Iranian nation on Sacred Defense Week, and expressed hope that, inspired by the spirit of resistance and obedience to the Supreme Leader, Iran will continue to thrive in all fields.
