Ex-general: ‘Herd of idiots’ leading Israel towards an abyss

Retired Israeli General and military expert, Yitzhak Brik, has slammed the Israeli government led by Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, as “a herd of idiots” who threaten the state’s existence.

In statements published by Israeli media outlets yesterday, Brik said the Israeli war of attrition in Gaza and Lebanon has created terrible polarisation in Israeli society where blind hatred and mistrust are prevalent.

He warned that such polarisation could divide Israel into the ‘State of Israel’ and the ‘State of Judea’.

“A propaganda mechanism dubbed the poison-spewing machine of Netanyahu and his mouthpieces has been disseminating false or misleading information, incitement and false news against opponents,” he said.

Brick warned that the cracks in Israeli society are widening to a dangerous and irreversible extent; which could lead to the state’s collapse.

“The Israeli army, without which we cannot survive in this hostile region, is completely exhausted, and the entire burden is on those who are serving their fourth round of reserve duty since the beginning of the war… The number of reservists who refuse to respond to military call-up orders is increasing; regular soldiers are also exhausted, and are losing professional skills because training courses have been stopped or cancelled altogether,” Brik said.

“Because of this ongoing war of attrition, the education system is now on a weak leg and on the verge of collapse, and alongside it many other institutions are facing similar fate.”
