TEHRAN - Andrei Zhiltsov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Isfahan, has emphasized the mutual benefits of expanding Russia-Iran relations, highlighting the considerable potential for bilateral cooperation.
Despite facing illegal sanctions from the West, Zhiltsov praised Iran's technological independence, stating that the country possesses significant capabilities to defend its national interests autonomously.
Zhiltsov underscored the importance of mutual support between Russia and Iran amidst the turbulent global landscape. He stressed the necessity of collaboration in addressing security challenges and combating terrorism, expressing gratitude for Iran's solidarity following a recent terrorist attack in Russia.
Questioning the legality of Western sanctions, Zhiltsov raised concerns about their motives, suggesting they aimed to assert global dominance. He reiterated the advantages of bolstering Russia-Iran ties across economic, trade, cultural, and tourism sectors, noting the positive impact on job creation and citizens' well-being.
In addressing security concerns, Zhiltsov acknowledged the joint struggle against terrorism, referencing recent tragic attacks in both countries. He expressed confidence in their collective ability to counter such threats and emphasized the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
