TEHRAN – Iran has displayed the home-grown Mohajer 6 drone at a defense expo in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
Iran's defense and military products took the spotlight at the exhibition, especially with the debut of the Mohajer-6 combat drone, garnering attention from many foreign participants.
Manufactured by Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)’s Ground Force, the UAV boasts capabilities including carrying a multispectral surveillance payload and up to four precision-guided munitions.
The Mohajer-6 is a mid-range combat drone equipped with intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. Additionally, it can carry laser-guided munitions for air-to-ground strikes.
This Iranian drone is distinguished by its maximum speed of 200 km/h (124 mph) and an impressive endurance of 12 hours, allowing it to cover vast areas.
Designed to return to base after each mission, the Mohajer-6 offers a sustainable and flexible concept of operations (CONOPS).
With its cost-effectiveness and high performance, the Mohajer-6 has become a significant asset for military forces in need of reliable unmanned aerial vehicles.
The International Security and Defense Exhibition, attended by military dignitaries from 22 nations, including representatives from the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Support of the Islamic Republic, showcased various military industry achievements such as Mohajer drones, Gaza Long-Range Drones, Dehlawiyeh anti-armor missiles, air defense systems, and personal weaponry.
Iran also displayed anti-UAV systems, border guard systems, and thermal cameras at the event.
Furthermore, Iranian electronic industries demonstrated expertise in electronic warfare, anti-drone systems, border surveillance, and thermal imaging technology, emphasizing Iran's commitment to innovation and defense capabilities internationally.
The exhibition saw the participation of 112 international military equipment companies, underlining its significance on the global stage.
The exhibition, organized by the United Company for Exhibitions and Conferences in coordination with the General Company for Exhibitions and Commercial Services, commenced on Saturday in Baghdad and will continue for four days.
This 12th session of the exhibitions, under the patronage of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, facilitated international cooperation and the exchange of defense technologies.
In recent years, Iranian military experts and engineers have made noteworthy breakthroughs in producing a diverse range of indigenous equipment, achieving self-sufficiency for the armed forces. Iranian officials have reaffirmed the nation's steadfast commitment to enhancing military capabilities, including missile power, for defense and deterrence purposes only.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has on several occasions called for efforts to boost Iran’s defense capabilities.
Despite historical limitations, Iran witnessed an unprecedented $1 billion revenue in military exports last year, marking a significant shift. This milestone underscores Iran’s growing influence in the international market, setting the stage for continued advancements in military technology and strategic capabilities.
