Iran’s VP holds talks with Lebanese official in New York

TEHRAN, (MNA) – Iran’s Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Ensieh Khazali met and held talks with President of the National Commission for Lebanese Women (NCLW) Claudine Aoun in New York, the US.

On the sidelines of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York, Khazali and Aoun had a meeting on Monday where they exchanged their views on policies, strategies, and actions to support women's empowerment, reclaiming their rights, and guide domestic organizations in this direction.

The 68th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women started on March 11, 2024, with 101 high-ranking delegations participating, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Khazali led a delegation and arrived in New York City on Sunday. She was welcomed by Zahra Ershadi, Iran’s Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, at the John F. Kennedy International Airport.
