Zelensky wants to impose sanctions on Iran for 50 years. Don’t laugh!

Crescent International

The globe-trotting, American-supported clown (aka President of Ukraine), Volodymyr Zelensky wants to impose sanctions on Iran.

Don’t laugh; this is not one of his petty jokes that he used to tell as a comedian although at times, it is difficult to tell whether he is playing the role of a joker or president.

The comedian-turned-politician who is sustained in power by American and western largesse and guns, submitted a draft bill to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, on May 28.

It calls for sanctions against Iran that would last for 50 years, no less!

Why stop at 50; why not 100 years or more?

RBC-Ukraine, a local news agency, reported that the 50-year sanctions against Iran will include restrictive measures such as a complete ban on trade with Iran, as well as stopping the transit of resources, flights and transportation through Ukraine, the Middle East Monitor reported.

The draft bill before parliament serves to “approve the decision of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine dated May 27, 2023 ‘on the application of sectoral special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) to the Islamic Republic of Iran’,” Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform reported.

The report also said that the draft bill proposes to prohibit the transfer of technology, rights to objects of intellectual property to Iranian residents and prohibit investments in Iran.

What has driven Zelensky to so much rage resulting in such delusional outbursts?

His beef is that Iran has supplied Russia with killer drones, Shahed-136 that have caused so much devastation to Ukraine’s infrastructure.

Iran’s position has stated that a limited number of drones were supplied to Russia before Moscow launched its special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

The Ukrainian regime and western intelligence agencies, however, say that Russia had “been using Iranian-made Shahed-136 drones in the conflict since autumn” of 2022, according to a BBC report.

By late 2022, Iranian drones were much sought-after items by many countries.

Major General Rahim Safavi, head of Iran’s military affairs, confirmed on October 18, 2022 that 22 countries had sent requests to purchase Iranian attack drones.

That is not all.

The same month, a Reuters report said Iran had “promised to provide Russia with surface-to-surface missiles, in addition to more drones,” much to the chagrin of western regimes.

The collective west led by the US have supplied hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of lethal weapons to Ukraine.

The US has provided $75 billion to Ukraine since February 2022 while the European Union has provided 55 billion euros.

More aid in the form of lethal weapons such as German-made Leopard tanks and US-made F-16 planes are on the way.

At the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan on May 20, Zelensky again demanded more weapons to be provided to him.

Hiroshima, it must be stated for the record, was the city where the US dropped its first atomic bomb on civilians in August 1945.

It was followed a few days later by another bomb dropped on Nagasaki, reflecting the extreme criminality and racism of the US.

In his meeting with Zelensky in Hiroshima on May 21, US President Joe Biden said:

“The United States continues to do all we can to strengthen Ukraine’s ability to defend itself,” citing his recent decision to allow F16 fighter jets to go to Ukraine and to train Ukrainian pilots on the aircraft in the US.

“Together with the entire G7, we have Ukraine’s back and I promise we’re not going anywhere,” he added.

He could say that again!

The collective west is going nowhere in Ukraine.

Just a few hours earlier, a statement from the Kremlin had communicated President Vladimir Putin’s greetings to Russian forces for the “completion of the operation to liberate Artemovsk” (known as Bakhmut in Ukraine.)

It was a fitting gift from Putin to Zelensky and his western backers assembled in Hiroshima.

Zelensky, however, denied the city had been taken but said little remained.

“They destroyed everything. There are no buildings. It’s a pity, it’s a tragedy, but for today Bakhmut is only in our hearts,” he said.

According to US military analysts, 25 Ukrainian brigades and at least 9 battalions and five regiments—an estimated deployment of 120,000 troops—were thrown into the battle by Kiev.

With estimated casualties of 70 percent, Ukraine suffered over 70,000 killed and wounded.

Looked at from any angle, it is a devastating defeat for the Ukrainian military.

Russia’s Wagner fighters, who captured the city, numbered only 32,000 fighters.

True, the fighting lasted 224 days but ultimately, it turned out to be a “meat grinder” for Ukrainian forces.

Zelensky has been thrashing about like a wounded beast.

On May 27, he said he had approved sanctions against 220 companies and 51 individuals, mainly comprising Russian citizens, from defence industry enterprises and related Russian companies.

The Russians must be shivering in their boots.

“We will continue our sanctions steps, and new sanctions packages are on the way—even more extensive,” Zelensky threatened.

This is the second thing he has learned from the west: sanctions.

The first thing he learnt was how to tell lies.

If he persists in his ill-conceived policies dictated to him by the west, soon there will be nothing left of Ukraine.

The Americans are prepared to fight to the last Ukrainian against Russia.

True, Zelensky will flee to Israel where his parents have already fled but the price for his follies will be paid by the Ukrainian people.
