Venezuelan FM: We have excellent trade ties with Iran

Tehran, IRNA – Venezuela Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto said in an interview with IRNA here on Tuesday after a meeting with his Iranian counterpart that his country has very

successful trade ties with Iran.

The top Venezuelan diplomat said that his meeting with Amirabdollahian was quite fruitful and that he was very pleased to be visiting the friendly Islamic Republic of Iran.

"Venezuela and Iran are close friend countries and we enjoy intimate comprehensive cooperation with your country," he added.

Yvan Gil Pinto said that he and Amirabdollahian have in their meeting exchanged the messages of the two countries' presidents.

"We also spoke in detail about expansion of Iran and Venezuela commercial and trade cooperation, and consulted on the two countries' international cooperation, including in Group of Friends of the UN Charter, where Iran and Venezuela will be closely cooperating," he added.

In response to another question of the IRNA reporter on the fields of economic cooperation of Iran and Venezuela, the Venezuelan foreign minister said that his country's excellent cooperation is mainly in energy field, imports and exports of goods, and engineering services.
