“At present, the oligarchs who control the US government are focused on destroying Russia. The increasing unity of Russia, China and Iran are seen as a grave threat to US economic dominance of the world,” Charles Dunaway said in an interview with Press TV on Tuesday.
He added that US oligarchs do not care how many Ukrainians die in the process.
The analyst also said that “the new relationships with Russia and China can help relieve the impact of Western sanctions on Iran.”
He was commenting on a statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin who said on Sunday that Russia is opposed to the emergence of a unipolar world that revolves around Washington’s interests.
Putin said his country is striving to create a multipolar world rather than one that is centered around the US.
Some of Washington’s allies also see confrontation with Russia as a unifying cause, eclipsing any differences between them and the US, Putin noted.
“Here in the United States, the alleged ‘land of the free’, I am told that my country is the defender of freedom and democracy against the autocrats of the world, principally Russia and China. It is a queer democracy we have here,” Dunaway said.
“Last week thousands of our citizens in Ohio faced the loss of their homes and severe health risks from one of the thousands of derailments we have every year. The streets and parks near my home are full of people living in tents - many addicted to fentanyl or heroin. Millions of my fellow citizens are suffering from mental or physical illnesses and are unable to afford treatment. But our President, the ‘Leader of the Free World’, was in Kiev for a meaningless photo-op with the former actor now playing the role of President of Ukraine. Biden promised endless supplies of arms for Ukraine but no help for his own people,” he added.
“As President Putin pointed out in his recent speech to the Russian parliament, the Western nations are not only neglecting the human needs of their own people but their spiritual needs as well, all in a vain attempt to retain global hegemony. The Chinese Foreign Ministry published a similar statement saying ‘The United States has been overriding truth with its power and trampling justice to serve self-interest,’” he noted.
He added that there is no doubt if the US oligarchs “succeed in Ukraine, attacks on Iran and China will be next.”
“The US oligarchy has so corrupted the government and media that no one in Washington cares what the American people think. The Western media only rarely provide a glimpse of reality in either domestic or international affairs, and most Americans are either oblivious to what their leaders are doing or believe carefully crafted narratives in which those few world leaders that oppose US hegemony are depicted as crazy Hitlerian despots, and the US is the selfless hero that must save their hapless people from oppression,” the commentator said.
“It seems obvious that the US/NATO proxy in Ukraine is destined to lose this war and with it, most of what has been known as Ukraine since 1991. Should this happen, NATO is likely to disintegrate as Europeans force their leaders to put their own interests above those of the US, and the US dollar may cease to be the world’s reserve currency. This would mean the end of the unipolar moment for the US, and that is an outcome the oligarchs in New York and Washington will not tolerate,” he noted.
“The war in Ukraine could be ended tomorrow using the roadmap that China recently proposed. The trillions of dollars spent on armaments and wars could be used to rebuild the United States and improve the lives of its citizens. The US could become what it pretends to be - a force for good in the world. But few Americans understand this and our partisan political environment has kept them from forming a strong opposition,” Dunaway added.
“Tragically, US hegemony will need to be broken by external forces. Russia is currently engaged in that mission and the US oligarchs do not care how many Ukrainians die to defend their megalomaniac obsession with world domination. In fact, they are seeking to sacrifice others,” he said.
“Threats are being made to sacrifice the Taiwanese in an attempt to conquer China, and the Zionists are increasing their brutality against the Palestinians provoking a new Intifada that could draw in the axis of resistance and Iran itself. The cost of ending the unipolar world could become even greater,” the analyst said.
“This is a pivotal moment in history as the international order established by the US over 75 years ago crumbles under the weight of its own hubris. Will a new multipolar world emerge or will the current masters of the world destroy it if they cannot control it?” he asked.
