TEHRAN - The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry hit back at the U.S. and the Zionists for cautioning against Iran’s nuclear program, saying the irony is that the “criminals and outlaws” have become flagbearers of security in the world.
“U.S. secretary of state Antony Blinken whose country used 1st A-#bomb in world and PM of fake #Zionist regime, with horrible #nuclear arsenal, stand together warning of Iran nuclearization,” Nasser Kan’ani wrote in a tweet on Tuesday.
He said that Blinken and Zionist prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu leveled the accusations against Iran, which is a committed member of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, commonly known as the NPT.
“Ridiculous but true; Criminals & outlaws flagbearers of int’l security!” he added.
In a communique, both the United States and Israel claimed that Iran is playing a “destabilizing” role “in the region and beyond,” insisting on their overused, unfounded assertion that Tehran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
“Just as Iran has long supported terrorists that attack Israelis and others, the regime is now providing drones that Russia is using to kill innocent Ukrainian civilians,” Blinken added.
The spokesman warned the U.S. government that any violation of Iran’s interests or territories will draw such a decisive response that would make the aggressors regret it.
In response to the threatening remarks from the U.S. secretary of state and its national security adviser, Kan’ani said that the U.S. government must note the legal and international responsibilities of its threats against Iran and it must think more about the political consequences of such provocative statements.
He said Iran has repeatedly reaffirmed the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities and this is attested by numerous reports of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Kan’ani reiterated that nuclear arms have no place in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s national security doctrine.
At the same time, he added, Iran has not stopped its scientific and technological progress in the nuclear field and it will pursue its nuclear program as much as needed for the development of the country and in line with its inalienable rights as a signatory to the nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty, NPT.
The spokesman underscored that the U.S. government also knows that Iran will not tolerate any aggression against its territory and interests and will respond to aggressors decisively and in a manner that would make them regret their action.
Deriding the ridiculous claim that the U.S. supports the Iranian people, Kan’ani addressed Washington by saying, “End this hypocrisy and do not underestimate the political intelligence of the Iranian nation.”
Kan’ani added that during the recent riots, the Iranian people once again saw how the U.S. and some of its European allies, in different ways and to the best of their ability, tried to sacrifice the security of the people of Iran to their evil and anti-Iran desires and objectives through provocation and incitement of rioting. “But they failed to achieve their goals as in the past, and the conscious people of Iran let them down,” he stated, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
The spokesman finally noted that the U.S. government and its European partners will not gain anything from their continued lies about Iran’s internal affairs, but Tehran will hold them to account over their anti-Iranian acts.
Kan’ani laso has condemned the remarks by the Ukrainian president’s advisor on the recent destructive act against a military facility in central Iran as suspicious and provocative.
He called on the Ukrainian government to give an official and clear explanation about his comments.
In a twitter post, Mykhailo Podolyak a senior advisor to Ukraine’s president had implied that his country participated in the attack that tried to target a defense ministry workshop in Isfahan, central Iran.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman added that the Islamic Republic of Iran, while heeding the recognized principles of international law, stresses the need for the protection of its national security and the preservation of its interests.
Kan’ani stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves the legitimate and legal right to respond in kind to any party involved in acts that would violate international law.
The Iranian foreign ministry on Monday summoned Ukraine’s charge d’affaires in Tehran to protest comments by the top Ukrainian presidential advisor.
Podolyak’s remarks were made in time with similar comments by Zionist officials.
