Iran eyes nuclear electricity for 20% of its energy needs

Tehran, IRNA – Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami said on Sunday that the country plans in the first step to secure a 20% share of the Iranian energy basket from nuclear electricity.

Eslami made the remarks addressing a conference on nuclear technology in Tehran’s Shahid Beheshti University.

He said that Iran has always been facing hue and cry in developing its nuclear program as there are Iranophobia plots underway to block Iran’s path to this technology.

Iran has freed itself from being dominated and when it does not accept domination, the enemies create problems every day, the official said.

He referred to the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists and attacks on Iranian nuclear sites as measures taken by the enemies to impede the progress of Iran’s nuclear technology.

Instilling that Iran does not need to go nuclear is because they know how fast and effective nuclear technology has been, Eslami said.

The Iranian nuclear chief made it clear that the nuclear technology has been provided to the human kind by the God and cannot be subject to monopoly of a specific group.
