Supporting the Palestinian people and opposing the occupation must become a global culture

The International Union of Adolescents and Youth against the Occupation in a statement hailed the act of the Algerian national soccer team that dedicated their championship title at the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 to Palestine and particularly the people of besieged Gaza Strip.

The Union also apreciated three Algerian players who refused to participate in the game, protesting against the opposing team’s Israeli coach, Avram Grant.

The International Union of Adolescents and Youth against the Occupation call on the world public opinion not to limit its support for the Palestinians to this time and these Algerian heroes, and use it as a model to turn the opposition to the Israeli occupation into a global culture.

"Palestine remains a priority for world public opinion. The action of Algerian footballers in the final of the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup in Qatar, and the raising of the Palestinian flag after winning the championship, sent an important message to the Arab regimes that despite their betrayal and agreements with the Zionist enemy, public opinion will never accept this betrayal and they are still against Israel and support Palestine”, the statement reads.

The International Union of Adolescents and Youth against the Occupation, while appreciating the courageous action of the Algerian footballers, declares that Palestine is an occupied territory and must be returned to the Palestinians, who are its original owners.

The union also expects the public opinion, especially the big sports family of the world, not to limit this action to this time and these Algerian heroes, and and use it as a model to turn the opposition to the Israeli occupation into a global culture.
