Report: Zionist FM, Jordan King Hold Secret Meeting

AMMAN (KI) – Zionist foreign minister Yair Lapid travelled to Amman last month for a secret meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Israeli Channel 12 TV has revealed.
The two apparently discussed recent tension at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds and the Zionist regime’s aggression against the Palestinians, which was described by the program as “clashes”.
Also on the agenda, it was reported, was the strengthening of relations between the occupying regime and Jordan, which signed a treaty in 1994. Over the past few years that former Zionist prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in office, relations between the two sides deteriorated.
Commenting on the discussion about strengthening mutual relations, Ynet News said that relations between the regime and the Jordanian monarch have been warming since the new cabinet in the occupied territories was sworn in.
Protest Against Gas Deal

People in Jordan have demanded a change of policy by the kingdom vis-avis the occupying regime.
Jordanians protested in the capital, Amman, on Sunday calling on the government to abolish a $10 billion gas agreement signed by the state-owned National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) with the occupying regime.
The protesters gathered near the Ministry of Energy and NEPCO’s headquarters and raised banners denouncing the deal.
Member of the event’s follow-up committee, Muhammad Al-Absi, said the stand coincides with the passage of five years since the deal was signed.
“Today we reiterate our call, which did not stop at all, to demand the cancellation of this agreement. We say there is no way but to cancel this agreement, which will make this country a pawn in the hands of the Zionist entity, and will be used to blackmail us about anything as it did in the water file,” he added.
Protester Suleiman Sweis said: “I stand today with my colleagues in order to protect the future generations of Jordan, and to preserve their dignity and Jordan’s sovereignty.”
The deal signed in 2016 between NEPCO and Noble Energy; operator of the Zionist regime’s Leviathan gas field in the Mediterranean, stipulates that the occupying regime will provide Jordan with about 45 billion cubic meters of gas, over a period of 15 years, starting from January 2020.
