Qashani: Decorative Tiles

The history of the tile industry dates back to the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries AD in Iran, which is the name derived from the name of Kashan in Iran, and with the movement of some Iranian artists to Turkey in the Ottoman era, this art became essential for decorating the walls of mosques and palaces, and this art reached the Maghreb countries, and developed there significantly, and this art became widely used in geometric patterns of various geometric shapes and polygons, and it is a square containing Qur’anic texts inside, and there is a technique similar to the technique of the Qashani art, which is defined by the art of zellij, and this technique differs in its target patterns, and this art tends to forms Hexagons, polygons, and stars are drawn around one central point.

The types of casseroles differ according to the way they are made, and they are as follows:
Golden tiles: The pieces are golden and green
Seven-colored tiles: It is one of the types that use the seven colors in painting.
Al-Muaqli tile: It is a method used in the decoration of the tile by the method of building small squares.
Tile clamp: used to implement various intricate designs.
The veined tiles: These are pieces of veined with different colors from the color of the floor.
Covered tiles: This type is characterized by the presence of a layer that protects it from damage over time.
Jasmi tiles: This method is used to make various small and delicate designs, and it is characterized by strength and rigidity.
Qashani Alnara: This type is used to cover domes.
The zigzag tile: It is the zigzag type.
Al-Khatam tiles: It is used as a seal on plates.
Jock: It is used as a frame for the surface on the tile.
Duffel: It is used to contrast the colors in the tiles.
Al-Hamil: It shall be in the form of long and colored strips.

Writing with texts of Quranic verses or sentences related to historical events written in Persian script.
Plants such as: flowers, roses and trees.
Geometric polygons and various geometric shapes.
