While the attention of the world is focused on the fight for justice and equality of all ethnicities in the US, where nationwide protests against the crimes of President Donald Trump and the white supremacists are in their 4th week, the illegal Zionist entity continues its policy of state terrorism against Palestinians and other neighbouring people.
In its latest murderous acts, the nephew of a prominent Palestinian was killed near the occupied Islamic city of Bayt al-Moqaddas, while Israeli warplanes again raided Syria to kill more unsuspecting civilians.
The Palestinian deceased was identified as 27-year-old Ahmad Erakat, nephew of Saeb Erakat, secretary-general of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO).
Saeb immediately released a statement, saying 27-year old Ahmad who was to get married next week was actually "executed” by the Israeli forces, and most probably on the orders of the notorious Zionist premier, Benjamin Netanyahu.
It was a cold-blooded murder, he added, pointing out that the latest victim of Israeli crimes was to attend his sister’s wedding Wednesday night.
It is worth noting that the targeted killing of the nephew of a senior Palestinian official comes on the heels of the recent statement by the Palestinian Authority of declaring statehood if Israel and its godfather, the US, go ahead with their plot to annex the West Bank of River Jordan.
This means, Netanyahu is stepping up his murderous bid to intimidate the Palestinian leadership, with the support of the reactionary Arab regimes, such as Saudi Arabia, which continues to hold in prison several senior members of the Palestinian Islamic Movement, Hamas, as part of the plot to ‘legitimize’ the illegal Zionist entity.
Meanwhile, to the cheers from the unrepresentative regimes in Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, and Manama, late on Tuesday Israeli jets raided Syria, hitting the towns of Salamiya and Sabura in Hama province, hours after Israeli missiles struck Deir az Zor province along the border with Iraq, and in southern Syria near the border with Jordan.
Earlier, several Israeli attacks occurred simultaneously, one at Kabajib, east of Deir Az Zor and another in the vicinity of the town of Sukhna in the nearby eastern desert. A third attack was further south, in the town of Salkhad, near the southern city of Sweida.
According to reports, at least two Syrians were killed and several others injured in these unprovoked attacks that damaged industrial installations.
These aerial attacks, which have sporadically occurred since 2011 in support of the terrorists trying to destabilize, are part of a shadow war ordered by the US to deflect attention from the illegal presence of American forces in Syria.
As the Syrian army, slowly but surely moves to liberate from terrorist control Idlib Province in the north near the Turkish borders, Tel Aviv is attempting to push the government in Damascus to resort to some rash action against its frequent attacks in order to start a full-fledged war.
It is a matter of regret that the UN, which claims to be a representative body of world nations, has turned a blind eye to the Zionist-US crimes in Syria, similar to its ambiguous stance on Occupied Palestine and the almost daily killing of the oppressed Palestinian people.
It seems the growing awareness of conscientious people around the world, has made the Zionist entity to accelerate its spree of murders in the region, especially since the recent release of a joint statement by 1,080 parliamentarians from 25 European nations for measures to prevent Netanyahu from seizing the West Bank.
Netanyahu has plans to implement from July 1 his annexation of parts of the West Bank on which the illegally-built Jewish settlements have sprung up, as part of a so-called ‘Middle East plan’ proposed by US President Donald Trump last January.
