Each year when spring rolls around, rice farmers in Mazandaran province, northern Iran, start preparing the paddy fields for transplantation.
Although the best time for rice transplantation is mid-April, farmers postponed it for several weeks this year due to the coronavirus outbreak.
These days there are two ways of rice cultivation: manual or traditional, and mechanized or automatic.
Seeing the steps of rice transplantation in the paddy fields can be a tourist attraction per se as it’s a joyful experience.
