Local sources said Turkish forces and their loyal militants forced the owners of agricultural lands in Tal Abiad north Raqqa and in Ras al-Ayn north Hasaka to register for Turkish identity cards issued by the local councils affiliated with Turkey.
The sources said that having seized the wheat and barley crops from the farmers in Tal Abiad and Ras al-Ayn and forced them to hand them to be then moved to Turkey according to the price set by Turkish officials, the Turkish forces forced the locals to register for identity cards from the local councils that are affiliated with Turkey. These cards resemble the ones issued in Aleppo northern countryside that are written in both Arabic and Turkish.
The sources informed that the Turkish forces forced the locals to open bank accounts in "the Turkish Post Government" institution which has branches inside Syria in order to receive the money transfers of the price of the crops already handed.
These measures come in the framework of the Turkification policy that Ankara practices in the areas where Turkish forces are deployed in Syria. These measures include imposing the Turkish currency and language on vital sectors such as electricity, water and post offices to force the locals to use them as well as authorizing local councils affiliated with Turkey to implement Turkey's orders and practice violations against the Syrians.
