It is rather strange that while the Arab masses, in unanimity with Muslims all over the world, view Israel as a "cancerous tumour” that ought to be uprooted from the soil of Palestine and that Bayt al-Moqaddas should return to the fold of Islam, reactionary and unrepresentative regimes, such as Saudi Arabia, are trying to legitimize the illegal Zionist presence in the region.
This contradiction has become more evident in the fasting month of Ramadhan with two TV serials produced in the Arab world, whose themes are starkly opposed to each other.
If "An-Nehaya”, which means "The End”, produced in Egypt, predicts the eventual destruction of Israel and has angered Tel Aviv which forced Cairo to remove the first episode, "Umm Haroun” produced in the UAE on the instructions of Saudi Arabia, lionizes a woman of the Jewish fraction of a minority in the Persian Gulf of the 1940s.
The Egyptian serial’s message to the viewers who have greatly welcomed it, foretells the end of Israel in less than a century since its illegitimate birth in 1948.
In contrast, the other serial, being aired on the Saudi-owned MBC channel has angered the Arab masses, while drawing praise from the Zionist regime, which is hoping for establishment of formal diplomatic relations with Persian Gulf regimes.
Amr Samir Atif, the writer of "An-Nehaya” has no regrets despite the criticism he is facing from his own government which has diplomatic ties with the Zionist regime, for scenes such as the following where a teacher telling students on history in a classroom long after the destruction of Israel:
"When the time came for the Arab states to get rid of their sworn enemy, a war broke out that was named the ‘War to liberate al-Quds’, which ended quickly and brought about the destruction of the Zionist regime in less than 100 years after its establishment.”
With a holographic map of a divided US in the background, the teacher in the serial tells the students that the US was the central supporter of the Zionist regime, and with the eventual end of Israel "most of the Jews in Israel ran away and returned to their countries of origin in Europe.”
According to Atif, "the destruction of Israel is a possible future in the absence of real peace and true stability in the region.”
Meanwhile, "Umm Haroun”, directed by Ahmad Jamal al-Adl, glorifies the tiny Jewish population of Iraqi and Indian origin that used to reside in Kuwait before its migration to Occupied Palestine on the illegitimate birth of Israel in 1948.
The overtly pro-Zionist serial is seen as part of efforts by the notorious Saudi Heir Apparent MBS (Mohamed bin Salman) for legitimizing the illegal existence of Israel and establishment of open diplomatic ties between Riyadh and Tel Aviv.
The huge popularity of the Egyptian serial in contrast to the negative attitude of viewers of the UAE-Saudi serial is yet another proof that the Arab Muslim masses do not share the views of the rulers imposed upon them by the imperialists.
As a matter of fact, "Umm Haroun” which means "Aaron’s Mother” has brought into sharper focus the Zionist origins of the Saudi clan, which as history bears testimony, is descended from Jewish settlers in the Najd interior of Arabia. It was for this reason the desert brigand Abdel-Aziz was made king by Britain of the spurious state called Saudi Arabia in 1932, seven years after his bloodbath in the Land of Revelation, Hijaz, to occupy the sacred Islamic cities of Mecca and Medina, accompanied by mass massacres.
