Tehran, IRNA – Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has met and held talks with Anwar Gargash, a diplomatic advisor to the president of the United Arab Emirate in Tehran.

There is no detail of the issues discussed by Araqchi and Gargash in their meeting or the reason behind the trio on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting earlier today, Araqchi hinted about a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump, saying Iran had not yet received and that a representative from an Arab country was expected to deliver the letter.

In an interview with Fox Business on Friday, Trump said he had written a letter to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, without revealing the content.

Meanwhile, American media outlet Axios reported, citing an informed source, that Trump's letter to Iran was delivered to the UAE by Steve Whittaker, the U.S. special representative for the Middle East who traveled to Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
