Notwithstanding the concessions that the zionists extract and their routine exploitation, Israel is plunging Africa into deeper trouble with food insecurity on the rise.
The Saudi regime has taken a page out of this Israeli textbook.
It is known for infiltrating countries by baiting them with foreign investment after which it uses religion to spread destructive Wahhabi notions that divide communities.
In 2023, Captain Ibrahim Traore welcomed Ahmad Bin Abdulaziz Kattan, an advisor to the Royal Court of Saudi Arabia.
The Bani Saud emissary was carrying a special message from the Saudi king to him.
The message that Kattan delivered from the Saudi king highlighted the robust Saudi-Burkina Faso relationship and extended an invitation for Traore to participate in the Afro-Saudi summit and the Arab-African summit to be held in Saudi Arabia.
Those summits were meant to finalize multiple agreements related to Saudi Arabia’s financial support for critical infrastructure development projects in Burkina Faso.
Subsequently, Traore decorated the Saudi Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Fahad Al-Hathelol, with the Commander of the Order of the Stallion, the highest order in the republic.
Recently though, Saudi Arabia offered to build 200 Mosques in Burkina Faso.
The military ruler of Burkina Faso, however, rejected that offer by Saudi Arabia to build 200 Mosques in his country.
While it is commendable that Traore declined the offer for Saudi-styled hollow Masjids we should be cognizant of the purpose that Masjids are meant to serve.
The Islamic model for change integrated Masjid and market and, hence, the reorganizing of resources, people and material can be more effective through revitalizing the network of Masajid along Islamic political and ideological thought lines.
Traore’s development strategy is centered on education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
As Saudi religious indoctrination using Wahhabi myopic obscurantism has given rise to criminal groups like Al Qa’ida, ISIS, Boko Haram, Al Shabab and others that have only brought death and destruction to the social fabric of societies wherever it takes root, it is likely that Saudi notions conflict with his development strategy.
Groups aligned with Wahhabi myopic obscurantism have wreaked havoc in Nigeria, Somalia, Chad, Mali, Mozambique and other regions in Africa and the world at large.
Due to the colonial legacy, Africa has been impoverished over centuries.
In an attempt to overturn this colonial legacy African leaders should be wary of using short-cuts whereby they may be susceptible to infiltration by destructive ideologies—whether of the zionist variety or Wahhabi type—presented under the guise of sharing technology and financial support.
