Iranian President congratulates Algeria on anniversary of revolution

TEHRAN – The Iranian president extended his congratulations to both the president and the citizens of Algeria on the occasion marking the anniversary of the commencement of the Algerian struggle.

As reported by the Iranian presidential office, Massoud Pezeshkian conveyed his message to Abdel Majid Taboun, the President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, celebrating the 70th anniversary of Algeria's liberating and inspiring struggle.

This significant milestone also aligns with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and Algeria.

Furthermore, Pezeshkian expressed the Islamic Republic of Iran's commitment to enhancing and expanding bilateral relations across various sectors.

The anniversary of Algeria's liberation serves as a significant occasion that honors the nation's fight for independence from French colonial domination. It was on November 1, 1954, that Algerian nationalists initiated a series of organized assaults on French military and civilian installations, signaling the onset of the Algerian War of Independence.

This anniversary provides the Algerian populace with an opportunity to celebrate their hard-earned freedom and to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who bravely fought for their nation's independence.
