TEHRAN – In a common position on Wednesday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani said it is the responsibility of the international community to put an end to the Israeli “crimes” and “genocide” against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the office of the Iraqi prime minister said in a statement.
The statement followed as President Pezeshkian made a visit to Iraq on Wednesday at the head of top delegation.
The two top officials said the relentless crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza have created “insecurity and instability” in the region.
Israel has been brutalizing Gazans for more than 340 days. So far about 41,000 people, mostly women and children, have been killed and about 100,000 wounded. International Criminal Court (ICC) chief prosecutor Karim Khan has demanded arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his war minister Yoav Gallant.
Pezeshkian says Muslim unity key to root out Israeli terrorism
In a meeting with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid upon his arrival in Baghdad, Pezeshkian also said it unity among Muslim nations is crucial to effectively put an end to terrorism by the Zionist regime of Israel.
“Unity among Muslim countries serves as the key and secret to rooting out Zionist terrorism,” Pezeshkian suggested.
