Arab League condemns rise in Israeli settler attacks in West Bank

The spokesperson for the Arab League Council’s Secretary-General, Jamal Rushdi, has condemned the escalation of Israeli settler attacks on several Palestinian villages in the occupied West Bank.

Rushdi said that the “war crimes” committed by the Israeli occupation on a daily basis in Gaza should not cover up what is happening in the West Bank, Al Jazeera reported.

“The imposition of sanctions by some countries on a number of colonists represents a small, late step that is insufficient to halt such attacks,” he said.

He also called for the UN Security Council to end the attacks and hold Israeli settlers accountable.

Since Friday, settler militias, under the protection of Israeli forces, have launched a wave of attacks.
