Palestine Warns of Growing Violence by Zionists in West Bank

RAMALLAH (KI) – Palestine on Saturday warned of the growing violence of the Zionist settlers in the West Bank, including increasing attacks on the Palestinians and their properties.
“During the past few weeks, there has been a growing and spreading violence of Israeli settlers all over the West Bank,” the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said in a press statement, referring to Zionist settler attacks on unarmed Palestinian civilians, and their homes, vehicles and properties.
The statement came after Israel Radio reported that Zionist troops accused the occupying regime of preventing the security services from dealing with settler “violations” against the Palestinians in the West Bank.
It is clear that the Israeli army and regime have provided support and protection for these settler groups, the statement said.
The ministry condemned the attacks as “settler terrorism,” urging the international community to list the settler groups as terrorist organizations “and pressure the occupying regime to dismantle them and dry up their financial resources.”
In an official statement, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas also slammed Zionist finance minister Bezalel Smotrich for encouraging the settlers “to escalate assaults on the Palestinians in the West Bank,” calling on the international community “to take a real and practical position toward the terrorism practiced by the Israeli settlers.”
The West Bank was occupied by the Zionist regime in the 1967 Middle East war. Despite international criticism, the regime has maintained control over the territory and established dozens of settlements on it.
Also on Saturday, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation, discussing the latest developments in the two countries and ways to boost bilateral ties, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
During the phone call, Putin extended Eid al-Adha greetings and wishes to Abbas and the Palestinian people, said the report.
Being briefed on the latest developments of the Palestinian-Zionist conflict, Putin affirmed Russia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people in achieving their aspirations for freedom and independence by establishing an independent state with East Al-Quds as its capital, it added.
