Iranian anti-terror commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani single-handedly demonstrated that not only the 1979 Islamic Revolution has not attenuated, but, if needed, is also capable of an outburst of power that can blind the enemies, said the interior minister.

Ahmad Vahidi made the remarks in an address to a research and scientific conference titled ‘School of Shahid (Martyr) Soleimani: A School at the Level of Modern Islamic Civilization’ in Tehran on Sunday, IRNA reported.

He added although many sought to inculcate the idea that Iran’s Islamic Revolution will not go far and the honorable Islamic resistance will be weakened, at present, the resistance front is, more than ever, shining and moving on strongly, owing to Lieutenant General Soleimani’s efforts.

He said Martyr Soleimani’s existence is proof “to the legitimacy and rightfulness of the path we are treading”, noting that Lieutenant General Soleimani’s life and martyrdom rendered great services to the Iranian people and Islamic Establishment and helped push forward the Islamic Revolution.

Vahidi added a ‘school’ is a route requiring a destination and guidance along, saying the great martyr showed both the route and the destination and guided people along it.

He stressed that Lieutenant General Soleimani’s blood is running in Iranian people’s veins.

The minister said today, heavy responsibilities are on the shoulders of those who are treading Martyr Soleimani’s path, adding the great commander was the defender of the people, a responsibility to be shouldered by all those who have, alongside Martyr Soleimani, tasted the sweetness of defeating the global arrogance and shattering the Zionist regime’s bones.

He gave the assurance that the path leads to the Israeli enemy’s defeat, noting that Martyr Soleimani “made us further believe in the promises made by the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei that the Zionist regime will not last long and soon be defeated and that the global arrogance’s fake grandeur will fade away”.

Lieutenant General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, was assassinated near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020 in a drone strike directly ordered by former U.S. president Donald Trump. Soleimani’s companions, including Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), were also martyred in the attack.
